Our Name and Logo
The main Howlers Ridge logo.
So why the name Howlers Ridge? The retreat center is perched up on a ridge at 7,000 ft overlooking the Gallatin Valley. There aren’t wolves on the property but Taylor enjoys photographing them when he is lucky enough to cross their path in other parts of Montana. Wolves are important in many cultures and are often seen as a sign of courage, strength, resilience, loyalty, community and wisdom, all qualities that we value and strive to promote in our work.
Check out our graphic designer, Aaron von Freter at Rockswell, creating the Howlers Ridge logo. We love how it came out, thanks Aaron! Grab a hat with the logo on it here and help support our work.
In 2022 when Taylor bought the property that is now Howlers Ridge he explained to Esquire why he loves wolves, “They’re family-oriented, he says. They're also incredibly tough to track. The reasons start coming faster. Why not the wolf? How not the wolf, his tone suggests. “They're stunning,” he continues. Underdogs, too. Out hunting, they probably lose 70 to 80 percent of the time. “The adversity they face, it’s incredible,” he says.
